Good for us
Not a great review but for somebody who can't understand all the terms of latest TV technology but just have to upgrade to a flat screen.Checked out a similar configuration TV from Sony but it was way too expensive.I am reviewing this after 6 months of purchase.I have been busy admiring the flat screen. Coming to TV, it is excellent for us.It has 3 HDMI outputs and Oh yes, you can connect your 1st gen Xbox to this.No extra cables needed.Just connect the Xbox and TV with existing cables.But for connecting anything else, you need to order HDMI cables.Order them from amazon as they are very expensive in the stores. No problems reported so far. Sound can be a bit better. The remote is bit big for my hands but I guess I can live with it.The picture quality is good.It doesn't have the 120hz feature but unless you watch sports everyday hour of the day, I don't think that matters.Even with ports, there is a sports mode which can used but in normal mode, you can notice the pixels since it lacks the 120 hz feature.The menu can be a bit tiresome.I can't remember which function is in which part of the menu.I have to keep checking each and every option till I find the required setting.
ON the whole, its good TV for the price for anyone who doesn't spend a lot of time infront of it.

Great TV, but it makes noise.
We've had the TV for several months now and it is wonderful. Very clear pictures, especially in HD. The only minor complaint is that there is a relatively long delay between pushing the power "on" button and the TV actually turning on (1-2 seconds), and when it does, it has a loud chime. This wouldn't be annoying except that we have an infant in the house who is often sleeping in the same room as the TV, and the chime is loud enough to disturb her from sleep. It also chimes when you turn it off, though if you mute the TV, the chime is muted as well. Wish that was an option when you turned it on. Otherwise, fantastic TV, great price, clear picture.

I would recommend this to anyone. It has a great quality picture. Well worth the money spent.

I ordered the LN40A550 from this page, and I actually received the LN40B550 from 6ave. This is indeed a "newer model", but the B-type does not have picture-in-picture, and it has the subtle red "touch of color" while the A-type does not. I can't believe they did this! Here's their response:

"Thanks for your e-mail. We sincerely apologize but we sent you the upgraded model for the one you ordered. If you do not want the new model, please call us at 877-... for the RA number and the instructions for the return. Thanks."

It's not enough of a bother for me to return the thing, but still: caveat emptor!

Anyway, the TV is great, although it's not what I ordered!

Great TV... but do not order from ""ELECTRONICS EXPO" from NJ
Excellent TV. But watch who you are ordering from. I have a problem with the TV that came damage during shipment. I have called several time to resolve the issue with exchanging it. They told me to contact the "Manufacturer" to fix the problem. So, I called Samsung and they had a tech to see the problem. When the tech saw the TV, he told me that Samsung with not replace the LCD screen. He told me, it would "COST" me 0 to replace it. I call the Electronics Expo again, and now they tell me that they have to contact the shipper. I waited and waited with no responds. I was so angry, I disputed with my credit card and gave them a bad feedback. I also had a similar problem with VANN'S but there are GREAT. I love them. Watch out for "ELECTRONICS EXPO".

Bummer
I've had this TV for 2 years now, and 1 year 1 month into it (right after the warrantee expired) It started to turn black whenever there was high humidity... After some googling, I found that this is actually a common problem with Samsung TV's, yet Samsung has done nothing to address the issue...

Other than the occasional hours where the TV just doesn't work, the TV is actually great quality picture and features. To bad this will most likely be my last Samsung TV as other models have the same problem and Samsung has been slow to respond to it.

Beware! Defective TV in warranty still not covered
I bought this TV in July of 2007. As with many other reviewers, I loved it and told all my friends to buy a Samsung. After 11 months, the screen went black. Sound, but no picture. Called for warranty service and they took my set into the shop. While in the shop, they could not reproduce the problem, so they upgraded the software and brought it back to me. TV worked for approx. 9 months, and then the problem reappeared. Called Samsung again. Even though it is the same problem that was not fixed the first time under warranty, they will not cover the repair. I have spent a lot of time making phone calls to them and explaining the issue to no avail. Had repair out to the house recently and it was diagnosed with a bad inverter board, which is permanently attached to the LCD screen, meaning that I have to replace the whole screen to the tune of 00.00! I paid over k for this set and expected it to last a long time. Instead I got 21 months of use before it became a piece of junk hanging on my wall. What can I say? Samsung customer service leaves a LOT to be desired. Read on for a LOT of other reviewers saying the exact same thing. If you buy from them, make sure you get the longest extended warranty you can find......you're gonna need it!

Serious concerns about Samsung Customer Service
This TV is only about eighteen months old and the picture shuts off after about five seconds. Everything else is functioning normally.

It has been lightly used, since I used to be away most weekdays on business.

After researching the problem briefly on the internet, it appears this problem is fairly prevalent. That concerns me.

The Samsung CSR was unable to identify the problem. That concerns me.

I was referred to their nearest authorized repair service---sixty miles away. I live in the New York metropolitan area, with something like 18 million people. That concerns me.

All of the reports I've read are still ignorant as to what the problem is, are still waiting for assistance, and/or have had a recurrence of ths issue (this last indicates that the wrong repair was made or that the part being used is inappropriately designed for its intended use). That concerns me.

If this is a pervasive problem, and Samsung is unable to readily identify it for their customers, then I have serious concerns about purchasing their products in the future.

The Future Is Nice...
I love this TV and everyone that has seen it has been impressed. No complaints. PS3 and Xbox 360 look terrific with this TV.

Samsung LNT4665f
Bought this TV in Aug 07. Looked great for 20 months. As per other reviews on this TV it is now starting to fail. The LCD is starting to get clusters of white pixel spots when it's turned on. This will clear now if you power off and back on. I have not called Samsung due to the reviews about Samsung will not do anything for out of warranty TV's. Also the reviews are saying Samsung will charge 0 plus to repair. This is not acceptable for a 00 tv at 20 months. I have looked at other manufacture rewiews and they are mostly all the same. These LCD TV's are not holding up and failing at 18 months. We are at the mercy of these people! Gone are the days of you TV lasting 10,15 or 20 years. Samsung products do not meet the recommendation of consumer reports or other rewiews. These TV's are not worth what they are charging and not standing behind there products. The failure rate appears to be much higher than the 2-3% they are claiming. Think twice about these TV's from Samsung or any of the other manufactures. If you do buy one get the extended warranty. Don't like them but what can you do to protect yourself from these crooks.

Why the center support?
I bought this stand for my new Samsung 67" DLP. It is a beautiful and well made piece of furniture and my TV fits perfectly on it. I put it together myself (with a little coaching from my husband)in a couple of hours. I also bought a 5.1 surround sound system for my TV. All components including Playstation 3 fit very nicely except one thing. This stand has a center support that prevents you from placing the center speaker in the middle. I had to put it off to the side on the bottom shelf. My center speaker is quite large but a smaller one could be placed on an available stand that fits on top of the TV. This can be found on line at[...]A good product if you don't mind your speaker being off to the side.

I have this stand holding up my 72" Samsung and it matches the set very good. Nice and sturdy as well.

Big man TV stand
This is a wonderful product. Very sturdy, easily assembled and a gorgeous shiny black lacquer finish with a glass middle shelf. This thing could hold an elephant.

Horrible Service
We were very excited when this TV Stand came so that we could set up our new TV on it. However, the box arrived damaged, damaging the top piece. We called the number for replacements parts and we thought, great, we'll build it in about a week. After a week, or so, I called again saying I had not gotten the item. They apologized and said they'd order it again. Finally, I called a 3rd time and begged to talk to a manager who transferred me to the actual parts depot. I begged to get a tracking number and was told it wasn't possible. I asked that I be contacted when the part shipped, and was told i would. But i never got contacted. We finally built the stand with the damaged part and received a new part 3 days later. We're wondering which of the 3 I asked for this one is! Either way, we'd never order from this manufacturer again.
As a TV stand, it works fine, and it was relatively easy to build.
